3 Weeks of Snowboarding in China - First Stop Urumqi
1st December 2019
So we have had over 3 weeks of riding in China before the start off the winter. We left late November and our first stop some 35 hours later was a small place in the Silk Road called Urumqi in the far North West of China. Some 5 hours of flying from Beijing.
We started with a riding day with some of the local crew before going into the BASI Level 1 resort is pretty cool with some of the best feeling snow on the pistes I’ve ever felt. Really good for carving. Not to cold either. We were delivering training for the Wan Lei Snowboard School, run by the most famous snowboarder in China.
But the lack of coffee was an issue ;)
This was our first week and from here it was a 12 hour journey to Chongli via Beijing for a BASI weekeend and then into another Level 1….more news when we get an internet connection!
