Last Week in China
15th December 2019
Well after nearly 3 weeks living out of a board bag, 7 different hotel rooms, I reckon nearly 100 hours of total travelling time on 6 flights, at 5 different airports, 2 bus transfers, 5 car transfers, being secretly followed by the local police to make sure I actually went back to the airport in Urumqi and not via a ‘re-education’ centre that you’ve heard of in the news (I didn’t know at the time as I was sleeping in the car) I’m really happy to be back home in Arinsal.
The last week was spent in Cuiyunshan Galaxy Resort just outside Chongli about 3 hours from Beijing…. A Beijing 2020 Winter Olympic host town and resort.
It’s a great little resort currently being expanded and built up….Really being built up! It’s pretty cold, regularly hitting minus 20 and 30 but we lucked out this week at only minus 17 with the sun taking the edge off it a little. It’s the last BASI level 1 for 2019.
I’m shattered, it’s been a hard 3 weeks constantly on the go either working or travelling. I’m beat…..
